Dr. Dorothy M. Dye

Valdosta, GA - “What Happens When Rain REIGNS in your Spirit?"

Sis. Dorothy M. Dye is a Christian Clinical Counselor and lives in Valdosta, GA.   Sis. Dye provides Christian counseling services in Valdosta both privately and through contracts with area churches. She is the mother of 2, grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 2 precious girls. 

Sis. Dye is employed with Valdosta State University as the Executive Director of the Learning Service Center through the Department of Social Work.   This program operates a daycare facility for seniors who are in the early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease, and also provides educational services for caregivers to help them to care for themselves as they care for their loved ones. 

Dr. Dye also provides contract services for Pathway to Hope Counseling Services, Inc., to help families resolve issues that would threaten to destroy the sanctity of their family life.  Sis. Dye is a certified domestic violence facilitator, and counsels with clients who are in need of anger management and/or substance abuse intervention, and also works with the victims of abuse to help them to come out of the shadow of their past and bring a sense of peace and stability to their lives. 

She is active at the Newsome St. Congregation of the Lord’s Church in Hahira, GA where Bro. Wayne Scott is the minister and Bro. Gene Godfrey, Bro. Herman Godfrey, Bro. Freddie Gregory and Bro. Joe Rawls are the Elders.     


Sis. Dye loves the Lord and His people, and desires to see her sisters living the abundant life of which our Lord speaks in St. John 10:10.  “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”  Among her favorite scriptures are Proverbs 3:5-6 and Romans 8:28: 


“Trust in the Lord with all of thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding; In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” 


“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
