GROWING IN THE WOMB OF GOD’S GRACE – 2 PETER 3:18

GROWING IN THE WOMB OF GOD’S GRACE – 2 PETER 3:18

“But grow in Grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Peter gives us a final command in his second letter . . . the final verse admonishes the believer to “grow in Grace.”  ‘In’ indicates a particular location . . . and that location that Peter is talking about is IN GRACE.

Just as a mother’s womb is the place of life, growth and development for the baby, so is the place of Grace—or the womb of Grace—the place of life and growth and development for the believer.  The womb has no other use than to be the place of residence for the baby . . . to give life to the baby as the baby develops.   The baby is connected to the mother by way of the umbilical cord . . . and the life of the baby is sustained by the blood flowing from the mother to the baby.  All of the babies’ needs are supplied in the womb.  All of our needs are supplied in the womb of God’s Grace.  We are connected to our Lord by the blood—and we are sustained by the blood.  We grow and develop in the Womb of God’s Grace.
