Often, when we are in the throes of our most heart-wrenching, soul- scarring, life-altering trials, we are unable to see that there is any possible good that will come of it. It is eye-opening when one sees Jesus, just hours from the cruelest death known to man, beg His Father for a way out. We are shown that while on the cross, He feels that He has been abandoned and forsaken by His Father. Yet, it is at this Cross that we encounter the amazing Grace that transforms, reveals, heals, and saves us. This Cross is where we are given “beauty for ashes.”
